What is Demolition Work?
According to the Victorian Building Authority, demolition involves the full or partial dismantling of buildings or structures using pre-planned and controlled methods. This includes removing structural elements, internal fixtures, and non-load-bearing components. There are three classes of registered demolishers in Victoria:
- Low Rise – up to 2 storeys
- Medium Rise – up to 5 storeys
- Unlimited – all buildings, including special structures
